Jamie's quilt

This was the last quilt commissioned by the Urquhart family. Their older child, a boy, didn't get a quilt to use, but rather to hang on the wall for decoration.

This was machine sewn, and probably polyester batting, and my note on the back of the original photo says, "Machine quilted (?)," so that, too, is unknown. But a fun pattern in great classic colors.

Katie's quilt

This quilt was another commissioned project while I was in high school for one of the families I babysat/nannied for. This was for their daughter Katie's room, and was sized for a twin size bed. The fabrics in this one are still some of my favorites, and the scraps still show up in quilts I'm making today, twenty years later.

The top is machine pieced, the batting polyester, and I *think* I hand quilted, just running around the inner edge of the sashing squares, so really not quite enough, but quilting by hand is pretty time consuming. ;) I think back then I still didn't think a machine-quilted quilt was a "real" quilt!
